FIEGEN Romain

Musher, Adventurer
Born on 3.08.1955

Romain is the first Luxemburger to cope with the magnetic north pole. He wanted to reach the kayak in the summer of 1993, but bad weather drove huge blocks of ice from the North Pole to the south and blocked the way. Thus in the winter of 1994, Romain made his way to the magnetic north pole on foot. From Resolute Bay in Canada he was on the ice for 3 weeks to reach his goal.

For three years, he moderated his program “Globetrotter” on RTL, where adventurers like Reinhold Messner, Arved Fuchs and others were guests.

After his adventure, Romain sought a new goal. He became coach, manager and mentor of his eldest son David. This duo inspired the running scene in Luxembourg for many years and proved that even a Luxembourger can go on a high level.

In 2006, David was rewarded with the vice-European title.

After David’s resignation from active running in 2014, Romain sought a new challenge and accepted the offer of the sports director of the Paraolympic Committee.

In order to pass on his many years of experience as an adventurer, coach, manager, and more to his youngest son, Raphaël, Romain was inspired by the idea of ”RF Adventures” and thus created a new challenge.
